Calling the restaurant "Umā" comes from the idea of gourmet cuisine without borders, a restaurant where the customer can experience travelling through food. The word Umā has many meanings, such as delicious, appetizing, intelligent and joy. The concept behind our cuisine is based on a BISTRONOMIC model or BISTRONOMY, a concept that defines the fusion between a bistro, that classic cuisine of the good product and a gastronomy in which we allow ourselves to apply current and avant-garde techniques to make a more personal culinary experience.

Very good food. We had a two course lunch....

Very good food. We had a two course lunch. Nice staff when serving our table. However, when we were leaving we got our coats but not my umbrella that the staff wanted to keep for me in a space behind a ”staff only” door - it had obviously disappeared and the staff more or less openly questionned that I brought it. They should of course as a minimum have apologized for not being able to guard my umbrella properly, and why not offer me a small compensation. Every proper value-for-money restaurant would do that.

Excellent discovery in the heart of Bruxelles - Bd de Waterloo area - lots of light, exceptional food and presentation; good acoustic, complex menu with original confection. a mild note to improve : the meats on the menu take 40 min - better to indicate on the menu to avoid last min change when ordering. It is a must visit place for gastronomy lovers !

Première visite chez Uma, je suis repartie...

Première visite chez Uma, je suis repartie conquise. Tout était parfait : les plats, l'accueil, ... Nous avons pris le menu à 100€. Il y avait des petites surprises en plus de ce qui était annoncé au menu. Le mélange des saveurs était parfait et les portions juste comme il faut. Rien à redire. Une très belle découverte qui vaut son prix.
