Welcome to the Elfde Gebod! The Eleventh Commandment (Het Elfde Gebod) is a unique restaurant-café in the old town of Antwerp, Belgium. It has a spectacular interior decked with angels, saints, pulpits and several deliciously sacrilegious visual jokes. We serve local Belgian cuisine and a big variety of famous beers. Beers include the local Koninck, Trappiste Westmalle dubbel, St. Bernardus Abt 12 and much more. The restaurant-café is located next to the The famous Cathedral of our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal). The ancient religious statues are in style with the Kathedral right across the street and the place has a long history. It is a must-see place when visiting Antwerp and it is mentioned in many tourist guides. It is the place everyone remembers form Antwerp. "The Eleventh Commandment" – this is to eat well, drink a lot of tasty beer and have lots of fun. So in general: YOU SHALL ENJOY!

The staff is excellent. We were early and somehow the front person found a place to sit then arranged we could sit as reserved an hour early. It was cold out and much appreciated. I observed staff being very engaged with patrons and could see in the kitchen the cooks also having a good time. Everyone seemed happy to be there. The mood was great and our mussels excellent. Made for a very nice dinner

Ik had voor beneden gereserveerd daar was eigenlijk geen plek meer, dan naar boven en daar werd ik ontvangen door etende bediening. Stoeltjes zijn gammel en tafeltjes heel dicht op elkaar! En ehm,… alleen maar een digitaal menu?

Falta de empatía por parte de la camarera que...

Falta de empatía por parte de la camarera que nos atendió. Nuestra comida tardó más tiempo de lo que suele ser habitual en ser servida, más de 40 minutos, y cuando me acerqué para informar a la camarera que nos atendió ante la demora del servicio lo único que me dijo para excusarse era que "estaban muy ocupados" y listo. En ningún momento hubo una disculpa que se hubiera agradecido por un lado y por otro se echo en falta que nos informaran de la demora. Por otro lado, la comida estaba muy bien cocinada.
