Over dit restaurant

Het beschermde monument 't Zwart Huis te Brugge werd gebouwd in 1482 en droeg vroeger de naam 'De Pensée'. Het laatgotische gebouw was oorspronkelijk een koopmanswoning met huistoren tegen de linker zijmuur. Dit historisch pand is met zijn 19 m hoge verankerde bakstenen schermgevel boven een plint van Doorniks kalksteen één van de meest indrukwekkende van Brugge. De schermgevel was oorspronkelijk hoger en met kantelen afgewerkt en is nu in het midden voorzien van een getrapte top. De vensters zijn rechthoekig met zandstenen kruiskozijnen, glas-in-lood en gekoppelde spitsboogjes met driepassen op borstwering. In de monumentale gelagzaal van de Bistro Zwart Huis vindt men nog diverse waardevolle interieurdetails waaronder een prachtige houtsculptuur boven één van de authentieke schouwen. Let ook op de Tudorboogpoort met natuurstenen omlijsting, getypeerd door hogels en kruisbloem.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Feier mit 19 Personen, sehr leckeres Essen (Tapas und Filet Mignon, sehr zu empfehlen!) und herzlichen Service. Eine tolle Location und Atmosphäre. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The restaurant was welcoming, the atmosphere...

The restaurant was welcoming, the atmosphere was good, the food was very tasty but the main courses took far too long to arrive. Arrived at 19:30 and had to nip out to get cash as we were informed the card machine was not working. Food order taken about 19:50 and the first course arrived on table about 20:05 but then our main course did not appear on the table until 21:10. Spoiled our evening ☹️

The place in very nice and pleasant to dine...

The place in very nice and pleasant to dine and drink, the food is good but the portions are too small for the price, enough fries to compensate the dish they serve. As for the drinks, especially special drinks like Gyn Tonic or Mojito, they still have a long way to go to prepare them. The service is very good and very friendly, fortunately the children ordered adult portions and they still surprised to see how little they were served. For the adults we were left with nothing but chips and salad. The tapas or nachos as a starter are not recommended.

Supervriendelijk, heel aangenaam en gezellig kader met live muziek en lekker, 'no nonsense', eten. Ambiance is de max! Alle leeftijden voelen zich daar welkom! Wij gaan zeker terug.
